This policy explains how the clinic of Dr Smit Doshi (“we”, “us”, “our clinic”) collects, uses, stores and protects information you share with us via this website, in person, or over phone and WhatsApp. We are committed to handling your information lawfully, transparently and in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) of India.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details — name, mobile number, email and city you provide on the appointment or contact forms.
- Clinical information — age, gender, symptoms, medical history and reports you choose to share during a consultation.
- Technical data — anonymised analytics about pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected via Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
2. Purpose of collection
Information is used solely to (a) schedule and confirm your appointment, (b) provide informed medical care, (c) communicate test results and follow-up reminders, and (d) improve the usability of this website.
3. Sharing of information
Your information is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Information may be shared with:
- Other clinicians directly involved in your care (radiologists, pathologists, oncologists) on a strict need-to-know basis.
- Insurance providers and TPAs, only when you have authorised cashless processing.
- Government authorities, when legally required (e.g. notifiable disease reporting, court orders).
4. Storage and security
Digital records are stored on encrypted servers with role-based access. Paper records are kept under lock and key. Online form data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored only for as long as needed.
5. Retention
Medical records are retained for a minimum of 5 years from the date of last consultation, as required by medical-record regulations in India. Website form submissions are deleted after 12 months unless they are part of an ongoing case.
6. Your rights under DPDP
- You may request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- You may request correction of inaccurate data.
- You may withdraw consent for non-essential communications.
- You may file a grievance, and we will respond within 7 days.
7. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies for site analytics (GA4) and heat-mapping (Microsoft Clarity). You can refuse cookies via your browser settings without affecting most site functionality.
