Skull base refers to bottom part of the skull, it is a highly complex area where within short distances lie several critical structures like nerves and blood vessels. Any tumour arising in this area and in proximity to the nose or ear is referred to as skull base tumour. These tumours require a skilled specialist to treat them. These may be managed endoscopically or through an open approach.
